To the people of the great State of Nevada:
After an unequivocal experience of the inefficacy and corruption of the
existing Federal government, you are called upon to deliberate on a new
President for the United States of America. This subject speaks its own
importance, comprehending in its consequence nothing less than the
future of our beloved Republic.

The challenges of our time are manifold. We are mired in an unending,
undeclared, unconstitutional War in Iraq; our dollar has begun a
precipitous plunge in value; the government expropriates the fruits of
our labor with immoral abandon; our children suffer from a scandalously
dismal schooling system; we are told that our right to bear arms, and to
defend our family, is a quaint tradition that needs to be "controlled"
and "regulated".

The challenges we face are great, but the solutions are readily
available if we choose to renew our faith in Constitutional government
and the principles on which our Republic was founded. Thus, it is from a
belief in the beneficence of Constitutional government, a love of our
Republic, and an abiding respect for the principles of liberty that I
humbly entreat you, as one concerned citizen to another, to consider Congressman Ron Paul
for President of the United States of America.
Dr Ron Paul is a congressman who has honorably served 10 terms as a
representative for the citizens of Texas. By training he is an
Obstetrician and has delivered over 4000 babies, giving him a first-hand
view of the sanctity and beauty of life. In Congress Dr Paul is known
for never compromising his principles and for always voting No on any
bill that is not expressly authorized by the Constitution, earning him
the affectionate moniker "Dr No". His views on social, economic and
foreign policy all derive directly from the Constitution, and his voting
record is uniquely unblemished in this matter.

For thirty years Congressman Paul has consistently advocated a foreign
policy of freedom and one that comports with the resounding admonition of
President Washington's farewell address to avoid entangling
alliances. In 2002 Paul courageously stood before Congress and warned
that the reasons for going to War were false and that the manner in
which our nation was being lead to the clash of arms was
unconstitutional. History has proven that the rationale for the War was
based on government lies and manipulation. And upon falsehood was heaped
the dishonor of Congress ceding its authority to declare War to the
Executive branch, ostensibly operating under " U.N. resolutions". Our
founders warned us that the authority to go to War should always rest
with the people, for ceding that authority to the Executive inevitably
leads to tyranny and oppression. An honest account of the state of
affairs today must acknowledge that we have strayed down the path of
tyranny. The executive branch has claimed the authority to spy
on the people; to torture behind the veil of secrecy; to arrest and
detain without the recourse of a trial by jury - that most basic right
necessary to the preservation of justice. Ron Paul's solution to these
matters is to return to the principles of our founders. The War was
unconstitutional and based on falsehood, so we should immediately bring
our young heroes home. And beyond bringing our sons and daughters home
from Iraq, Ron Paul advocates the return of troops from all foreign
nations in which they are stationed. For our nation is, and ought to
behave as, a Republic, not an Empire. Our Republic would be safer and
more prosperous if our troops were used to defend our own borders rather
than meddling in the affairs of other countries. Further, Dr Paul has
stated that as President he will never suspend Habeas Corpus (the right
to seek relief from unlawful imprisonment).

In economic matters Dr Paul is as steadfast in abiding by the
Constitution as he is in foreign policy. Dr Paul advocates an end to the
Federal Reserve system and the abolition of the IRS and income tax. For
over a century our nation prospered without the existence of either of
these Orwellian entities, and it can do so once more. Experts in the
field of monetary economics agree that the greatest economic calamity to
befall our nation -- the Great Depression -- was the direct result of
the Federal Reserve manipulating the supply of money. Today the
manipulation continues, with the Federal Reserve printing more dollars
to bail-out banks and hedge funds that invested irresponsibly. The
result is as predictable as it is catastrophic: when more dollars are
created out of thin air, the value of dollar must decline, and this is
precisely what has occurred. The value of the dollar has dropped by over
40% against to the Euro and has reached a historical low. To ameliorate
the precipitous decline in our dollar, Ron Paul advocates a sound-money
policy and a phased return to the monetary system prescribed by our
Constitution - the Gold standard.

Dr Paul also advocates the abolition of the IRS and the income tax. Not
only is the IRS a horribly Orwellian creation, but its existence is
based on the immoral claim that the proceeds of our labor are owned by
the government. This idea should be completely rejected in a moral
society. A return to limited, Constitutional government obviates the
need for an income tax and would lead to a stimulated economy, more
jobs, and prosperity for all Americans.

While Dr Paul is unique among the Presidential candidates in his respect
for the Constitution, his detractors and a cynical media have attempted
to portray his campaign as a "longshot" and Dr Paul as a "dark
horse". One might have made the same claim of George Washington and the
Continental army who fought, hungry and bedraggled, against the greatest
military power of their age, the British. When the cause is true and
just the hand of providence will always wend the righteous along the
path of victory. There is no cause more just, nor truer, than the
glorious cause of human freedom. In recent weeks Dr Paul's campaign has
demonstrated that it is among the top-tier in the Presidential race. In
the most recent quarter when every other candidate saw significant
declines in their fund raising, Dr Paul more than doubled his fund
raising total to a remarkable five million dollars, putting his
cash-on-hand above Senator McCain and on-par with Senator Thompson. Dr
Paul has the most active grassroots movement of all the candidates with
more meetup groups around the country than all of the other Republican
candidates combined. He has energized the youth of this country and his
presence is unmatched on the Internet. The Republican party, if it is to
remain viable with the next generation, must embrace Dr Paul's steadfast
adherence to the Constitution and the principles on which our Republic
was founded.
Washington wasn't chosen by his fellow members of the Continental
Congress because he was a great military leader. He was chosen because
they knew him; they knew the kind of man he was; they knew his
character, his integrity. It is the same sureness in the character,
integrity and principle of Dr Paul that I support his campaign for the
Presidency. I urge you to take time in the coming weeks and months
to further educate yourself about Dr Paul and to become involved with
supporting his bid for the Presidency. Together we can ensure that this
nation shall have a new birth of freedom and that government
of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the
earth.
